PRIVATE FLUTE AND PIANO LESSONS FOR
CHILDREN AND ADULTS OF ALL AGES
Children can begin flute lessons at the age of seven or eight, piano lessons as young as five or six.
Based on age and ability, HVMusic students use etude, song, exercise, and theory books, along with record keepers and staff paper. These may be purchased at cost from Hannah. Metronomes are recommended; stands are required for flute lessons. Students must have all materials at all lessons.
A piano or keyboard is required for all in-home lessons; access to one between lessons at Hannah’s home is recommended. An instrument is required for all flute lessons. Suggestions as to an instrument's attributes and where to get them provided upon request.
Practicing is not required, though it is highly recommended. Suggested duration and frequency of time spent practicing varies depending on the student’s age and abilities.
While parents are welcome to observe introductory lessons, it is not recommended that they attend lessons regularly. When lessons are given in Hannah’s home, adults are invited to make themselves comfortable in Hannah’s office.
Yes! Hannah has two resident felines, Bongo & Maleficent, so if anybody is allergic, we recommended conducting lessons away from Hannah’s home.
Weekly lessons are scheduled primarily for weekday afternoons, as well as some weekday mornings/evenings and Saturday afternoons. HVMusic is committed to keeping lesson days and times consistent; adjustments within reason and with sufficient notice may be made.
Hannah is available by phone or FaceTime for up to 15 minutes per week between lessons to clarify lesson content at no additional cost. She is available to address logistical questions by email anytime, as well as briefly before or after lessons.
Contact Hannah to schedule a free introductory lesson, after which it can be determined with which package to begin. Purchase of a minimum of four 30-minute lessons is required to commence weekly lessons.
Re-enrollment forms are offered at the second-to-last lesson of current sessions. As confirmation of continuance, payment for upcoming sessions is due at the last lesson of current sessions.
Yes. If, for example, you have purchased a package of four 60-minute lessons and have two children enrolled, you may elect to give 40 minutes to one child and 20 to the other. Transition time between students is included in the duration of the lesson.
At this time, HVMusic accepts compensation via Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle.
Concurrently enrolled family discounts are available when lessons happen on the same day under the same roof. Discounts are available for families who host lessons for students who do not live with them. In the latter case, only one travel fee would apply.
Two 50% installments may be made at lessons one and three of four, one and four of six, or one and five of eight. One-time fee of $20.00 per package due with first installment.
Yes. If a new session is not paid in full by the last lesson of a current session, and there is no installment plan, a $15.00 late fee is incurred.
Lessons may be cancelled and rescheduled at no additional cost with 24-hour notice.Except in cases of sudden illness and/or extreme emergencies, lessons cancelled without a 24-hour notice must be paid in full and cannot be rescheduled.
Yes! Lessons cancelled with at least 24-hour notice can be rescheduled within two weeks of the missed lesson, generally for a Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. It is also possible to make-up lessons by extending other lessons.
Lessons are not refundable, but they are transferable.
